Eguisheim (pronounced Egg-iss-hime) was never part of our plan when we set out to travel the world. In fact, we’ve never even heard of it until we met a world traveler from Australia who told us about it. Watching the way she talked about it made me decide right then and there that I was going to this town! Oh my gosh, I’m glad we did!!!

Eguisheim is in the Alsace region on the border of Germany and France. The town is formed in a circle, so you may find yourself walking past the same spot multiple times. But, you won’t even care because you will literally be in the most adorable village in the world. Walking the streets are like walking through a storybook. If the munchkins and hobbits got together and created a town, Eguisheim would be it! It’s actually the town that inspired the opening scene in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast! Just look!

My most favorite part of Eguisheim. They call that building behind me "The Pigeon Tower".

It was an extra treat to be there while they had their Christmas market set up. The lights, music, and decorations just added to the unbelievable experience. We even saw real chestnuts roasting on an open fire! I didn’t even know that was a thing!! I loved this place too much for words to describe. It was a dream!

We celebrated my baby’s birthday while there. The sweet restaurant was so excited with us as they brought out his dessert with a huge firework candle! It was so fun and a surprise for us all. Speaking of food, though, all the food was great in Eguisheim! We had better food there than we ever found in Paris.

If you get the chance, make the trip!! You could see the entire town in one weekend. If you go to Paris, take a 3 hour train ride to Colmar. From there, take a quick 10 minute taxi ride right into Eguisheim! You will not be disappointed! We all now refer to Eguisheim as “the cute village”. My kids loved it as much as we did![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
