Finding the right travel bags is very important and sometimes needs lots of research. Some travelers go with just a travel backpack and I would totally do this if we were traveling without the kids, but the mom in me needs to be more prepared. So, each of us will be going with our own travel backpack PLUS we will bring a little carry-on suitcase for some extra stuff. We plan on unpacking at each stop, so we’ll only be lugging all this around to get from point A to point B.

Individual Travel Bags:

BRANDON For his travel bag, he decided on the Tortuga Travel Backpack. It’s a great travel backpack specifically made for travel. Then, he is using the Tortuga Packing Cubes made by Tortuga and this super cool Garment Folder made by Eagle Creek. He also has these small waterproof bags to hold and protect some little stuff.

ME With my small frame, it took me a while to find the perfect travel bag that fit. I decided on the Osprey Farpoint 40 backpack. The S/M size fits me perfectly and I absolutely love it! I’m stuffing it with awesome compression cubeshygiene bag, and a little waterproof bag; all are made by Eagle Creek.

KIDS We decided on the Tortuga Daypack for each of my kiddos’ travel bags. They are super lightweight and can easily fit all of their stuff. Since our kids won’t be carrying them very much, the fact that they have no padding and no hip or waist straps doesn’t bother me. We plan on putting them in the storage bin beneath the stroller whenever possible.

Extra Travel Bags:

EXTRA SUITCASE So, we already owned this awesome rolling suitcase. It will carry things like blankets, winter coats, kids’ extra shoes, and the baby monitor. We don’t know how long we’ll carry this extra bag. We may find it extremely necessary or a waste of space. Only time will tell. Starting out, though, I think it helps a lot since we have no clue what to expect.

PACK AND PLAY With all the huge changes my baby will have to adapt to, I’d like to comfort him as much as possible where I can. We all know how important a toddler’s sleep is. He loves having his own sleep space and I’m going to let him have that. It might be a huge pain in the butt to carry this thing, but I don’t care. It’s staying until he’s ready to toss it.

STROLLER Does this need any explaining?! Not really.

That’s all she wrote – phew!
